My Favorite Book

One book that I have read and would consider one of my favorites would be "Travel Team" by Mike Lupica. I read this book when I think I was an eigth grader. I like this book because it is a sports book and I love sports. This book is also an inspiration for kids who are told that they probably will not be able to live up to their own expectations or dreams. The book tells the story of a little boy who has the dreams of being a star in the NBA just like his father was going to be intill a drunken accident crippled his chances. The boy is told throughout the story that he is too short and is later cut from his travel team because of his height. Although everyone doubts the boy and his recovering alcoholic father, they create their own travel team to compete against all the others. This book is an inspiation for anyone who was told that they needed to dream a different dream or told that they would never make it. The books shows that with friendship, dedication, and heart that you can achieve your dreams.
